Library skill (Center of Academic Information Services Unimas)

Like I had mention in my previous post, I am currently one of UNIMAS student. So, today I want share you guys about one of` the learning facilities at UNIMAS which is Center for Academic Information Services or known as CAIS. It is a enormous library that become the source of information for the student. Its offer various services such as lending books, printing, places for the student to revise and so on. since the place is enormous, so they have introduce "one search" website to assist the student in finding the books they needed.

My experience when i first time going there is :

It’s a very refreshing experience for me to be able to explore CAIS. I am a person that loves books, so naturally seeing that much books excites me very much. While it a little bit hard to search books there, CAIS is an impressive place with many resources that come in various medium for assisting the students in their studies or research. I have experience searching printed books with my friend using one search CAIS website that is specifically to assist students to search for the books that they want. My friend and I look for two printed books, two printed journals and two newspapers articles that been assign to us by the lecturer. It’s a challenge for us to look for the right shelves even with the help of the one search website because CAIS is a big place and we were yet to familiarize ourselves with the surrounding. However, in the end we manage to complete the task given. Hopefully in the future I will be able to familiarize myself and able to look for the books or resource that I need easily.
There were some document that the lecturer require us to look for to test our understanding on how CAIS working.

The Academic Advisor Meeting..

Alright.. for the fourth class in our Softskill subject at school, we are require to arrange a meeting for us to meet our academic advisor. This is important because we have to do so in order for us to print our examination slip and also for us to know where to look for guidance in case we need them. So to meet this academic advisor, we need to email her and when she respond like this :  so, only then can we meet her. My expectation of my academic advisor before I met her was really vague. I don't really put much thought in it other than expecting she would be awesome since she has  Dr. as her title. I thought she would be a stern and unapproachable person but later I found that how wrong I was. I met her in person, I was shocked by her friendliness. I was expecting maybe she was going to be aloof or have this air of authority around her but I found none of that. She is very friendly and approachable. Today I want to talk about mental health. Recently, my faculty organize a mental health talk for the student. This issue is no joke and that is why the education institute all over the world emphasize this matter to the student since the student especially prone to this issue. It is understandable that young adults and teenagers to have this mental crisis considering the lack of experience in their life.
